Italian vote: the unknown scenario - Debating Europe

Institutional and Political Issues
Date: Monday, 23 April 2018 18:00 - 21:00

Venue: Piada Bar  |  City: Ixelles, Belgium

On Monday 23 April, Stand Up for Europe Bruxelles / Brussel will launch its monthly drink-debates named #DebatingEurope!
The first edition will take place at the Piada Bar and will concern the outcomes of the Italian elections!

Following the general elections of March 4, 2018 in Italy, no political group or party reached the majority.
The center-right coalition, in which the Salvini's League emerged as main party, became the first political alliance in the two Chambers of the Parliament with 37%.
The five-star movement arrived second as political force but first party with 32%.
While the center-left coalition led by the Partito Democratico didn't reached 20% and stopped as third political force after its historical result of the European elections in 2014, around 40%.
Which kind of government will be formed?
Will these parties form a government or will new elections be called? Which consequences for Europe and for progressive forces in particular?

Let's discuss about it with Brando Benifei, MEP and Vice-President of theEuropean Movement, and Gian-Paolo Accardo, co-founder and redaction director of VoxEurop!
