Innovation Opportunities in the Bioeconomy of the North of England

Energy, Environment and Climate
Date: Thursday, 26 April 2018 10:00 - 12:30

Venue: European Parliament - Altiero Spinelli building, Room ASP 3H1  |  City: Ixelles, Belgium

White Rose Brussels is delighted to invite you to the event, Innovation Opportunities in the Bioeconomy of the North of England, which will be held on 26th of April from 10:00-12:30 and is jointly hosted in the Brussels European Parliament by Linda McAvan and Paul Brennan MEPs.

This meeting presents the results of a UK government-commissioned Science and Innovation Audit which has assessed the strengths and opportunities for the bioeconomy in the North of England.

The EU is promoting the development of the bioeconomy, in which renewable biological resources are produced and converted into food, feed, energy, chemicals and other materials. An innovative bioeconomy can help Europe to be more sustainable and resource-efficient, while stimulating industrial competitiveness and job creation.

The Audit will explain how the North of England is a global front runner in science for the bioeconomy and the interventions that could stimulate major growth in the region. The panel discussion and Q&A will also situate the North of England in the wider European bioeconomy, commenting on current challenges and opportunities for sustainable growth.

Register here by 13.04. Read more about the Science & Innovation Audit here.
