Electrofuels: what role in EU transport decarbonisation?

Energy, Environment and Climate
Date: Thursday, 11 January 2018 08:00 - 08:10

Venue: European Parliament Rue Wiertz 60 Members Salon ASP 0 G 1047 Brussels Belgium  |  City: Bruxelles, Belgium

Renewable fuels produced from electricity have recently drawn a renewed interest in the REDII, but it seems there is very little knowledge about what they are, what type of sustainability safeguards they require and how realistic is their uptake up to 2030. ‘Electrofuels’, ‘e-fuels’, or ‘power to liquids’ what are they exactly? What role do liquid drop-in electrofuels have in the decarbonisation of the transport sector?

This event will be the occasion to present a new study from Cerulogy, commissioned by Transport & Environment. It will also shed light on the potential future industrial developments of these fuels and how it fits in the EU policy framework.

Speakers include:

Nils Aldag (Chief commercial Officer) from Sunfire - an electrofuels technology provider

An official representative of the German Environment Agency (TBC)

Stephanie Searle from the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT)

An updated invitation with a final agenda will be sent in January.

Seats are limited. The deadline for registrations is 07/01/2018.
