Inside the Europa building: communicating the Council of the EU

Communication and Media
Date: Tuesday, 14 November 2017 08:00 - 10:30

Venue: Europa Building  |  City: Brussel, Belgium

* The registration is now closed. Successful registrations will be confirmed via email two weeks prior to the event *

The Europa building is the new home of the European Council and the Council of the EU. It hosts EU summits, multilateral summits and ministerial meetings. The national delegations and the President of the European Council also have their offices in Europa. The building was completed in December 2016.

EACD members have now a unique opportunity to visit the building on a guided tour which is offered by the Council on an experimental basis. The guided tour will be followed by a briefing on the Council's communication activities by Paul Reiderman, Director of Media and Communication. The Council's communication function caters for a complex institutional set-up: the Council of the European Union, the European Council, the President of the Council and the rotating presidency.

You are warmly invited by EACD's EU Institutions Working Group Coordinators Bela Dajka and Katie Owens to register for this event before 18 October. Due to security requirements, late registrations will not be accepted.

Programme:

08:15-08:20 Arrival at the entrance of the Europa Building
08:20-08:40 Accreditation and security clearance
08:45-10:30 Guided tour of the Europa Building and briefing on the Council's communication activities by Paul Reiderman, Director of Media and Communication, Council of the European Union
10:30 End of visit

Important notice:

Once you register, EACD staff will ask you to provide your nationality and date of birth in order to complete your registration. For the visit, you will have to bring you a valid identity document issued by an EU member state (national ID card or passport). Other documents, such as national ID cards from outside the EU, driving licences, bank cards, student cards or other membership cards do not qualify as a valid identity document. Those who arrive late will not be permitted to enter.

The visit will be free of charge. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact us (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.">This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)
