Low-Emission Mobility: is a 100% electric future realistic?” The view from the gas, oil and electricity sectors.

Energy, Environment and Climate
Date: Monday, 24 September 2018

Venue: European Energy Forum  |  City: Schaerbeek

Main speaker:
Mr Jean-Marc Leroy, President of GIE
Mr Khurram Gaba, Policy Planning Executive, ExxonMobil Petroleum & Chemical
Dr Andreas Pfeiffer, Global Head of E-Mobility E.ON Drive
Speaker from the European Commission

This particular event will address the issue from 3 different points of views :

Mr Jean-Marc Leroy, from GIE (Gas Infrastructure Europe - transmission, storage and LNG terminals) will present the role of gas infrastructure in finding a cost-efficient way to deliver the EU energy and climate goals in the transport sector.

Mr Khurram Gaba, Policy Planning Executive, ExxonMobil Petroleum & Chemical will present the role of liquid fuels in transport in a low emissions economy.

Dr Andreas Pfeiffer, Global Head of E-Mobility E.ON Drive will discuss how electric mobility is a central part of the energy transition. There are many benefits to ‘going electric’ - decreased road transport emissions, reduced NOx emissions, lower noise pollution and better integration of renewables- but the switch does not come without challenges, for example concerning deployment and non-standardized country law.

We look forward to welcoming you to this event that promises to be thought provoking. Let’s see who will be the most convincing!
