ECIPE and ZPP Conference: Renewing Efforts to Create the Digital Single Market

Trade
Date: Monday, 17 September 2018 14:15 - 17:10

Venue: Renaissance Brussels Hotel  |  City: Brussel

The digitization of Europe has been a boon to economic growth and changed societies for the better. However, the pace of change in the real economy is slower than expected, and reforms in Europe to deepen the Digital Single Market have all too often stumbled upon resistance to reforms. The consequence is that the economic payoff from digitization hasn’t been as good as it should be.

What are the key areas for digital change in the near future - and how can Europe make greater progress with its Digital Single Market, especially with the view of assisting countries in Europe to converge with the global frontier of technology and boosting the digital economy? You are cordially invited to a high-level conference with senior speakers from policy, academia, business and think tanks. Featured topics of the conference are AI, 5G, IoT and cybersecurity policy - and what policies that should be front and centre as the EU gears up for new reforms. Moreover, how can countries in Europe collaborate more to help best practices to flow through Europe and push Europe-wide policy improvements?
