YPFP is proud to present you with Captain Timothy M. Newton, Deputy Director, Interagency Partnering Directorate from the United States European Command as your workshop leader on how to optimize cooperation and coordination between agencies to enhance tomorrow’s counter-terrorism strategies, in partnership with the U.S. Mission to the EU.

As you know, Europe has faced over the past years an unprecedented indiscriminate and unpredictable terror threat. Establishing effective solutions to counter these threats require an inclusive societal approach, hence bringing together all actors from the civilian and military domain so as to develop proportionate actionable policies via a common decision-making process.

The Interagency Partnering Directorate is tasked to develop a “whole of society” approach, bringing in a wide range of perspectives by integrating U.S. and nongovernmental agencies, academic institutions, international organizations, and private-sector partners to better execute EUCOM operations in the field of counter-terrorism.

The workshop will provide you with a comprehensive insight into the work of United States European Command and its efforts to coordinate an effective counter-terrorism strategy with its Allies within the European Theatre. A case-study exercise will be presented to participants to brainstorm on possible actionable solutions and reflect on the challenges of inter-agency cooperation and coordination. A discussion will follow on your proposed actionable solutions with feedback from the workshop leader.

The event will be followed by a reception, kindly offered by the U.S. Mission to the EU.
