Institutional and Political Issues
Date: Monday, 13 May 2019 18:00 - 22:00

Venue: Mercelis Theater

About this Event

The race for the European elections is officially launched since March 1, 2019. On May 26, you will be called to the polls to decide who will sit for the next 5 years in the European Parliament.

It is clear that disinterest, lack of information, lack of understanding and mistrust towards politicians and current politics are the main causes of the European "deficit" democratic.

To do this, the African Diaspora Youth Forum in Europe (ADYFE) raised the question of the vote of French people with foreign origins, particularly that of the youth of the African Diaspora, and therefore created a program #DiasporaVote to raise awareness and strengthen knowledge.

To overcome this, and restore the dialogue around the commitment of young people in politics we invite you to come to debate, listen and exchange .

1) Home / introduction

2) Debate between candidates

3) Word at the hearing

For the preparation of the debate, we advise you to read the European report " To be black in Europe" . You can also read our training on the European institutions and how it works; which is available on our website where still watch our weekly web-series: "Your European minute" .

The goal of #DiasporaVote! is to sensitize the European youth to the legislative elections of the Union. By offering them the tools to understand the European machine and dealing with issues of social cohesion and non-discrimination in all their aspects, we empower them and encourage them to fulfill their role of citizens by becoming involved in the European Union. today and tomorrow.
