2019 European Elections: The Case For and Against the EU

Institutional and Political Issues
Date: Wednesday, 10 April 2019

Venue: POLITICO Europe

Europe is at a crossroads. In May 2019, voters across the European Union (EU) will go to the polls to elect their Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), just a few weeks after the U.K. exits the EU. With expected low turnout, misunderstanding of how the EU operates and Euroskepticism on the rise, the EU itself seems to be at stake.

To make sense of it all before casting their vote, citizens will of course turn to the candidates and their manifestos but also to the media, the polls and – increasingly – the betting odds.

During the final leg of the race, POLITICO is organizing a groundbreaking event where you will have a chance to listen to both colliding political visions for the future of the EU but also to journalists, betting experts and polling leaders on what is at stake, what they foresee for these elections and how they came to those conclusions.
