The launch of  the new report “Facing down Facebook: Reclaiming Democracy in the Age of (Anti-) Social Media” by Tom Scott.

This event will take place on 21st February from 10.00 to 12.00 in room PHS4B01 of the European Parliament.

Commissioner Julian King will join our discussion to give an update on the progress of his work in this area, including the first implementation reports submitted by online platforms on the new EU Code of Practice.

University of Falmouth academic Tom Scott will present the main findings of his research, including several strong policy recommendations drawn from the report "Facing down Facebook".

Prof David Carroll, Litigant against Cambridge Analytica and Associate Professor at Parsons School of Design

Dr Emma Briant, Researcher on Cambridge Analytica and Senior Lecturer in Journalism at University of Essex; submitted evidence to the UK Parliament's Fake News inquiry and to the Canadian Parliament
