Workshop on ”Local prevention for Children and Young People: The Impact of the European Social Fund”

Civil Society
Date: Monday, 12 November 2018 10:00 - 13:00

Venue: Committee of the Regions

Bertelsmann Stiftung are hosting a workshop to discuss the findings of a recent study which looked into the governance and incentive structures used for the enhancement of municipal prevention policies for children in ten EU member states.

The study has come about as a result of the German initiative ”Leave no Child behind”, a program launched by Bertelsmann Stiftung, and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, to improve the development prospects and equal opportunities available for every child. Local prevention chains form part of the system supporting these goals, representing a systematic and ongoing collaboration between local stakeholders in education, healthcare, child welfare and the social sector.

The workshop aims to bring together local actors, EU representatives and experts from NGO’s to discuss the findings of the study and focus upon the impact EU funding has had on local prevention for children, and how efforts for the future can be improved.

If you are interested in participating in the workshop, please email Vera Hanke before October 11th. #EUevents
